To temporarily close your website storefront, follow the below.

  1. In the administration panel, go to Settings > General.
  2. Click the Close storeftont checkbox.

To be able to access your website front-end (as if you were a customer), do the above then also do the following:

  1. In the administration panel, go to Settings > General.
  2. Enter some value in the Access key to temporarily closed store field.
  3. Click the Save button.

To access your storefront whilst it's closed to the public, you will need to use this URL to access your store: http://www.your_site.com/index.php?store_access_key=secret  where  your_site  is replaced with your website domain name.  It's a good idea to bookmark this if you intend on keeping your website closed to the public for more than a few minutes.

Note: You do Not need to close your storefront to make adjustments to anything across your website.  Only close your storefront if you are temporarily closed for business or will not be open for a period of time like one week.
