How to set up your emails on an Android device

This tutorial shows you how to set up your emails on most Android smart phones to receive emails from your email account.

1.  First, tap on the Settings icon, then tap Accounts & Sync, then tap Add Account.

2.  Enter in the following details:

Incoming settings

Protocol:  Choose POP.

E-mail Address: Enter your e-mail address.

User Name: Enter your e-mail address again.

Password:  Enter the password for your EMAIL account. (This is on the Confirmation Letter you recieved from Magicdust when your website was handed over to you. 
If you do not know your password and cannot find this document, email us on admin@magicdust.com.au requesting this and we will resend it to you via email.

POP server
Your POP server is mail.websitename.com.au  where websitename.com.au is replaced with your actual website name.   For example, if your website URL is http://bobsburgers.com.au, then your POP server would be mail.bobsburgers.com.au.  Another example, http://www.tonyspizzeria.com would be mail.tonyspizzeria.com

Security Type:  None

Server Port: 110

Outgoing server settings

Login required: Checked

User Name: Enter in your e-mail address. 

Password:  Enter the password for your email account. This is the same password you would have entered in earlier. (This is on the Confirmation Letter you recieved from Magicdust when your website was handed over to you.

SMTP Server
Your SMTP server is the same as your POP Server, so, mail.websitename.com.au  where websitename.com.au is replaced with your actual website name.   For example, if your website URL is http://bobsburgers.com.au, then your SMTP server would be mail.bobsburgers.com.au.  Another example, http://www.tonyspizzeria.com would be mail.tonyspizzeria.com

Security Type:  None

Server Port: 25

If you see a message like this one, click continue or similar option.

Once done, try sending an alternate email account (eg hotmail, gmail, yahoo, bigpond, optusnet, etc). an email from this device.  If you receive the email in your alternate email account, reply to it and check you receive the reply and that everything comes up as the correct name, etc.
