Internal Links (linking to a different page on your website)

Internal links are links that will take you from one page on your website to another page on your website. The most common links are Text links. To create a text link, follow below.  If you're after how to add items to your menus, please click here.

First, select the text you want to turn into a clickable text link (shown below ‘click here’ is selected). 
Then click on the “Insert / Edit Link” button (icon to click is highlighted below with a red box)


The following window should pop up. Since we’re linking to a page that already exists…

 
1.       Click the little Right Arrow next to ‘Or link to existing content’
2.       Search for the name of the page
3.       Click on the page you want the text to link to

 
4.      Check the Title. This is what will show up when you hover over the text. If you’re happy with the title…
5.       Click Add Link. 
Your page should now show the text you selected in blue and underlined (shown below). Click ‘Update’ to save your changes. 


It’s always good practice to check your work to ensure that the link goes to the correct page by clicking ‘View Page’. The two quickest ways of getting to your page is shown below:
